New Gear for Fall 2018: In This Together

Outdoors, our dogs are our adventure partners. We share experiences together on the trail, on the water, in the snow, and sometimes, in nature’s wildest elements. They’re with us when the trail disappears on an alpine ridge top, just as a squall catches us by surprise. They provide body warmth as we huddle around the campfire, keeping us comfortable enough to stay up and trade a few more stories with friends. These moments help us feel connected to our natural world, reminding us how we should care for one another and our planet.

This season’s gear is inspired by the companionship we share with our dogs, the togetherness we find in wild places, the partnerships we build with each other, and our responsibility as humans to care for our planet. Because whether we’re venturing down a new trail – literally or metaphorically – sharing stories around a campfire, or persevering in the elements, we’re grateful to be in this together.

Explore below to see what’s new from Ruffwear for Fall 2018:

Wind SprinterJacket

The Wind Sprinter is an ultralight, packable dog jacket designed for unpredictable weather found in the mountains and during shoulder season. It’s made with nylon ripstop fabric that’s wind- and water-resistant, built-in leg loops to hold it in place in blustery conditions, and a leash portal that’s compatible with most harnesses and allows this jacket to be pulled on in a pinch. When the sun returns, the oversized storm collar converts to a stuff sack for compact stow.

For days that start chilly and warm up or nice weather that suddenly turns foul, the Wind Sprinter™ is ready when you need it, but it packs up and disappears when you don’t.

Our new Stumptown™ is a classic, everyday dog jacket that blends insulated warmth with durability. Named after one of our favorite cities for outdoor- and dog-loving humans (Portland, OR), the Stumptown features a modern, quilted design that’s at home in urban environments, yet its abrasion-resistant exterior shell allows this jacket to hold its own on the trail. Recycled polyester insulation provides cozy warmth on clear, cold days, and the leash portal on the back allows the Stumptown to be worn over most harnesses.

From town to trail, the Stumptown combines classic style with leading edge performance.

Clear LakeBlanket

The new Clear Lake™ Blanket provides coziness and warmth between adventures. At home, in the car, or at camp, this durable insulated dog blanket provides comfort for furry friends as they rest. Water resistant, quick drying fabric and lofty recycled polyester insulation hold in warmth wherever your adventure pal curls up for a power nap. The Clear Lake comes with stuff sack for easy transport.

The Restcycle™ Bed is a mindfully built dog bed for dogs that love to nest. Baffled construction with graded loft invites dogs to dig in, circle up, and settle down comfortably. Inside the baffles, our Restcycle™ foam, made from repurposed, post-manufacturing closed cell foam, can be shaped by dogs to create the perfect sleeping surface. The foam is shaped so that once it’s arranged, it locks together for supportive slumber. Best of all, our Restcycle™ foam won’t pack out and is impervious to liquids and odors. The removable, machine-washable cover is made with recycled materials, and the integrated pillow topper (stuffed with recycled synthetic down) enhances nesting comfort. A built-in handle makes it easy to transport the Restcycle on road trips, and a waterproof base protects floor surfaces while maximizing warmth and comfort. From home base to base camp, the Restcycle Bed offers easy rest to nesting dogs and eco-conscious humans.

We hope that this gear will enhance your adventures with your canine companion and inspire you to stay out longer, snuggle up closer, and create more unforgettable moments together. Happy trails!
