This Wednesday, April 22nd, we celebrate Earth Day – a day designated to serve as a reminder for us all to consider what we can do, big or small, to benefit the environment. Earth Day began in 1970 and has continued to mobilize millions to raise awareness to environmental opportunities every year since (read the history of Earth Day HERE).
Ruffwear wants to take this special week to highlight an organization that spends every day of the year focused on conservation – The Conservation Alliance. For this entire week (April 19-26, 2015), Ruffwear is donating 10% of our total sales on www.ruffwear.com to The Conservation Alliance. Now is a great time to both gear up your pup, and know that a portion of your order total will be going to grassroots organizations across the US, working to preserve our public lands for future generations.
About The Conservation Alliance
The Conservation Alliance is a group of outdoor industry companies that disburses its collective annual membership dues to grassroots environmental organizations. There are over 190 member companies, whose collective membership dues lead to over $1.6 million disbursed to grassroots organizations each year, dedicated to preserving their local wild lands. Ruffwear has been a proud member company with The Conservation Alliance for over eight years. To us, they are more than an organization that we donate money to. We participate in annual habitat restoration projects with the Alliance, two Ruffwear employees volunteer time as Ambassadors and Board Committee members, and we are fortunate to call their entire staff close friends. In fact, you may recognize a couple of their employees – they have taken part in a few of our photo shoots (see pics below)! See this video for a sampling of the results created through the funds granted by The Conservation Alliance.
