Dehydration on the trail can occur even during the chilly days of Spring, so it is important to remember to pack along water for your dog during any rigorous activity.

While we often remember to pack our own water or sports drink, our dogs are often left to fend for themselves in the ponds, rivers, and lakes along the way.  Because bacteria and parasites fester in shallow, still waters, this is not the best option for your dog.

The need for water during rigorous activity was the inspiration for our latest pack introduction—the SingleTrak Pack™.  Those who are familiar with human hydration packs (such as Camelbaks) understand how important convenient, easy to fill, easy to clean hydration is.  So we took these principles and created a lightweight, breathable pack complete with two (2) 0.5L Platypus bladders—one for you and one for your dog!

This pack is our smallest, most streamlined, and lightweight.  The non-obtrusive saddlebags won’t shift, and the profile leaves lots of room for maneuvering in, out, up, and around trees, fences, bushes, and brush.

So lightweight and low-profile, we didn’t know whether to call it a harness or a pack.  But one thing helped us make up our mind…this pack was essentially designed for carrying on the go hydration.

With the SingleTrak Pack™, on the go hydration is now as easy as 1-2-3…

1.  Fill the two Platypus 0.5L bladders with water and zip them away in the pockets of the SingleTrak Pack™.

2.  When your adventure calls for hydration, pull out the bladders and collapsible dog bowl (or just teach your dog to drink right from the bladders), pour, hydrate and go!

3.  After use, clean with warm, soapy water, rinse, inflate with air and dry uncapped.

Note:  This pack is available in the above color (Orange Sunset) April 1 at various retailers.  It is offered in Dry River Brown exclusively through REI.

  1. I just ordered the Dry River Brown version from my local REI store (back-ordered though… argh!). I can’t wait to make my cattle dog carry her own water!

  2. The only thing that would have to updated in order to make the Singletrak pack perfect for ANY activity requiring hydration would be to increase the strength of the attachment point. If it was, say, an aluminum V-clip like the webmaster harness, the singletrak could be used for light pulling activities, specifically rollerblading. Here in the urban jungle, trails are made of concrete and asphalt, so we have to get a little creative when it comes to outdoor adventures.

Other than that, great product! Keep up the good work!

    1. Thanks for the recommendation. We will keep that in mind on future products. There is a leash attachment point on the front that may work for your application. It is a reinforced webbing loop.
